Teaching Personnel are working on behalf of an SEN School in the DE11 area who are looking for an NQT ASAP.
The School caters for pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. The majority of the students have significant attachment disorders. All of the pupils are taught on a 1:1 basis throughout the school week to enable them to develop effective working relationships. The school caters for boys between the ages of seven and sixteen.
Rated 'Outstanding' by OFSTED this is an exciting opportunity for an NQT with strong behaviour management skills!
The Role:
- To deliver high quality lessons to students with special educational needs (SEN)
- To develop lessons that ensure that effective learning takes place for all pupils
- To ensure that all pupils make progress during the lesson
- To support pupils across all ages with varying learning abilities
- To work across a group of key schools on a flexible basis
The Candidate :
- Experience of teaching pupils with SEN - inparticular SEMH and Behaviour
- Experience of dealing with challenging and sensitive situations
- Understanding of the theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all children
- Knowledge and understanding of the SEN Code of Conduct and its practical application strategies for meeting the SEN of students in a mixed ability classroom
- Expereince working with secondary age groups with pupils aged 11 - 16 but who may be working at KS2 and KS3 ability levels
- Some understanding of P Levels for complex needs students who are not able to access the National Curriculum due to their impaired cognitive abilit
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
