Northallerton SEND provision - Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work with students in an SEND provision near Northallerton, the role will commence at the end of January and will continue until the end of the academic year.

The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with students with severe learning difficulties across Key Stages 3 and 4 who are in need of extra support within their lessons and occasionally at break and lunch times. You will be responsible for assisting with managing and tracking student's behaviour and personal development. The school has been rated as 'Outstanding' by OFSTED and caters for students with a variety of special educational needs including:

• Speech and language difficulties
• Social, emotional and mental health difficulties
• Profound and multiple learning difficulties
• Complex medical needs

Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with severe learning difficulties; however, the client school welcomes candidates with backgrounds in education and care work - this role would be ideal for those looking to move their career from care into education.
