About the setting:

You will be working at a specialist further education college offering both day and 38 - 52 week residential placements. They provide holistic education for students aged 16-25 years, who have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition and associated mental health conditions.

They provide robust therapeutic support alongside their students’ academic/ vocational programmes to enable them to gain the life skills, qualifications and employability qualities to ensure the greatest opportunity of successful outcomes (regardless of their starting point) and the chance to truly thrive.

Students have personalised and individualised programmes, designed by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to support the young people to make progress, develop skills and engage socially with others.

About the role

The job will be varied and interesting and you will find yourself involved in every aspect of the young people's lives – including practical, hands on activities and offering vital emotional, guidance and support. Each day will bring its own set of challenges, obstacles and victories, as well as the personal rewards of working with each individual to help them achieve their personal best – whatever that may be.

There is no personal care involved with this position.

You have the option to work day shifts OR night shifts, and will not be expected to work both. Shift patterns are:

Waking night shifts: 4 night shifts on, followed by 4 night shifts off.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for motivated care professionals who will strive to meet each young person’s individual needs at all times. Although it is not essential you have experience supporting young people with special needs, it would be beneficial for you to have an understanding of Autism.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
