An exciting teaching opportunity has become available for NQTs in a special needs school in Uxbridge for primary, secondary and post-16 pupils diagnosed with a special educational need. Primary trained teachers are preferred due to the varying learning abilities of students, but Secondary and Post-16 trained NQTs are welcome to apply. SEN experience or understanding is vital to fulfil this Newly Qualified Teacher post in Uxbridge as all pupils with have EHCPs.

Newly Qualified Teachers will be expected to be flexible teaching across Primary and Secondary classes and supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups. Learning approaches within the school are collaborative, multi-disciplinary, individualised and holistic with the curriculum personalised to pupil’s learning and developmental needs. Being open to on-going support and training will be essential due to the varying needs and approaches used within the school.

The NQT position in Uxbridge is full-time basis Monday to Friday 8:30 – 4:00 from September 2020 to July 2021 with on-going opportunities available. The role will involve planning lessons, creating resources, managing a small team of experienced SEN teaching assistants and working collaboratively with pupils, staff and parents.  

Requirements:

  • Must have PGCE/QTS/SCITT and be looking to complete NQT or an NQT position in a Special Needs School
  • Must be based in Hillingdon or able to travel to Uxbridge and be punctual and consistent  
  • Must be able to work full-time form September 2020 Monday to Friday 8:30 – 4:00pm
  • Have experience with special educational needs/EHCPs
  • Having the right attitude and pro-activity to teach Special Needs learners
  • Must be open to continued development through NQT support, courses and in-house training

The school is based local to Uxbridge and West Drayton Stations and is easily accessible on the central and Piccadilly tube lines with local bus routes across Hillingdon.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
