MFL Specialist

Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced MFL Specialist to join our team in Selby. As an MFL Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality language instruction and support to students.

Job Duties:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive language lessons to students, focusing on French as the primary language.
  • Create lesson plans and educational materials that align with the curriculum and cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Implement effective classroom management techniques to ensure a positive and conducive learning environment.
  • Assess students' language proficiency through various evaluation methods, such as exams, projects, and presentations.
  • Provide timely feedback and guidance to students to enhance their language skills and overall academic performance.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to develop and enhance the language programme.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress and achievements.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay updated with the latest teaching methodologies and language teaching techniques.

Required Qualifications:

  • Hold a degree in MFL (Modern Foreign Languages).
  • Demonstrate expertise in teaching languages, with a specialisation in French.
  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality language instruction to students.
  • Strong classroom management skills to create a positive and productive learning environment.

Education:

Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree in MFL (Modern Foreign Languages).

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years' experience in teaching languages, preferably with a focus on French.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of language teaching methodologies and best practises.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Proficient in using technology in the classroom.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in MFL or Education.
  • Experience working with students of different age groups and language proficiency levels.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment.

Working Conditions:

This position is based in Selby and requires working during regular school hours. The MFL Specialist will be working in a classroom environment, interacting with students and collaborating with other teachers and staff members.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
