Mental Health and Wellbeing Support in Schools

Marlow, Maidenhead, Slough 

Flexible – part time/full time

Schools have experienced many challenges since March last year because of COVID 19. One of those challenges has been to look after the mental health and well being of students. Many schools have been in contact asking if Teaching Personnel can provide support staff to offer online and/or face to face sessions of mentoring and mindfulness with students. Schools have been made aware that students have been struggling with the following:

  • Anxiety over the health implications of the virus on friends, family and themselves
  • Worries about falling behind in their studies.
  • Feeling lonely and isolated from friendship groups

Here at Teaching Personnel, we are looking for numerous support staff who can offer one to one or small group intervention in mental health and wellbeing. You will be required to support numerous primary and secondary schools across Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead. The hours will be flexible through out Monday to Friday.

Ideal Candidates

  • Qualification in Counselling, Mental Health First Aid, Mental Health Awareness, Support Work, Psychology and Education
  • Approachable, patient and a good listener
  • Understanding of confidentially and safeguarding of children and young people
  • Access to work remotely from home using platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom and Zoom
  • Confident to liaise with pupils, school staff and parents/carers where needed.
  • Resilient and positive
  • Can show empathy in a non-judgemental manner
  • Takes a genuine interest in the wellbeing of others

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
