Job description

At TP Tutors we have an exciting opportunity to work with Local Authorities and Schools within the Stockton-on-Tees area. We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic individual who strives to help children/young people achieve their academic goals within Mathematics.

As a maths tutor, you will be working 1-1 or with a small group of children/young people to provide them with support and guidance working on the maths curriculum. These children are currently working below expected levels, so need an excited individual who is going to plan creative and engaging sessions to help maximise children’s/ young people’s potential.

This role may involve working outside of a mainstream setting.

The Role:

  • Plan and deliver creative and engaging sessions to build on the child’s knowledge.
  • Provide constructive feedback and plan next steps via our learning platform.
  • Having an awareness of children’s individual needs and using this information to take a child’s centred approach to learning.
  • Using a variety of behaviour strategies to ensure focus in sessions.

Tutors Requirements

  • Professional Teaching Qualifications are preferred (Qualified Teaching Status, QTS).
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce Only DBS on the update service, or willingness to purchase on via TP Tutors (support for obtaining one will be given).
  • Professional references from your two most recent employers, totalling 24 months from a 10 year careers history.
  • Experience of working with children/young people with SEND, SEMH and other additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
