Job description

 

Maths Tutor (QTS) – Alternative Provision Unit

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maths Tutor to work with disengaged pupils in an Alternative Provision Unit. This is a rewarding opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people who require additional support outside of mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored Maths lessons to small groups or individual pupils

  • Support pupils with a range of needs, helping them to re-engage with learning

  • Plan and assess work in line with curriculum expectations

  • Work collaboratively with staff to support pupil progress and well-being

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Proven experience working with disengaged or vulnerable learners

  • Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Hours: Part time/ Flexible
Salary: £25 - £35 per hour
Start Date: TBC

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
