FULL TIME MATHS TEACHER

LEYLAND

"Our Maths Department requires a Maths teacher to start on Monday 28th October, covering a maternity leave. The successful Maths teacher can be at any stage in their teaching career, from a NQT or more experienced Maths teacher. The importance is that they hit the ground running and become a part of our team as quickly as possible. The Teacher of Maths will be teaching across the whole age range from year 7 - year 10 in the main with some cover in year 11, so should be comfortable with the entire age range of KS3 and KS4. We follow the AQA specification and so prior experience teaching this would be ideal but not required."

This Mathematics teaching role would suit a driven Teacher of Maths looking for a full time Maths teaching position from the October half term. The timetable will be mainly teaching Maths, however there will also be 2 hours of KS3 Biology and 2 hours of KS3 ICT per week, so having experience in these subjects would be advantageous.

  • Pay ranging between £23,920 and £39,406 in line with payscale (MPS1 - UPS3)

This secondary school is located in the heart of Leyland, with accessible public transport links. The school also boasts great facilities including an on-site secure car park for all staff to use and the most up-to-date resources for use by all faculties. The school is an 'Outstanding' secondary school in Leyland with a proud history of academic excellence are currently looking to recruit the best teacher possible, whether you are an NQT or an experienced teacher.

It is noted that 'Students make outstanding progress from their starting points.' Therefore we need a passionate Mathematician, with the same enthusiasm as the students.

For those NQTs applying, the school is also able to support with 2 terms of the induction year. The school has a NQT co-ordinator within their team who can support with PPA time and ensuring development continues throughout this next phase in any teacher's career.

The school is looking to shortlist Maths teachers throughout the next 2 weeks over the course of GCSE exam results day and therefore arrange meetings during the first week back in September.
