Maths Teacher – Brent Cross

Work Basis: Full time, Maternity

Start date: September 2020 (For the academic year 2020/2021)

Salary: Pay in line with MPS and UPS (GBP24,373 - GBP40,490)

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside an ‘Outstanding’ school (OFSTED 2011 and 2014) where students consistently outperform national expectations in terms of both attainment and progress. Outstanding outcomes provide their students with the opportunity to continue their studies at prestigious institutions; students at this school regularly receive offers from medical schools, Oxbridge and Russell Group universities. Essentially, they are a Teaching School, which means that the government has recognised the strength possessed in terms of teaching and learning, developing teachers and supporting other local schools. The school is very popular, with over 700 year 6 parents choosing the school as their first or second preference in 2020. Successful applicants joining our client school are joining one of the most popular and successful schools in North West London.

The mathematics faculty are a friendly, hardworking team with a wealth and range of experience. There is a suite of 7 teaching rooms and access to chromebooks and visualizers to aid learning. The faculty consistently delivers excellent GCSE results with 81% of students at grade 4+ last year. Maths is the most popular subject taken up at A level with 3 maths classes and 1 further maths class in both years 12 and 13 and a successful and suitable qualified candidate would have the opportunity to teach at KS5. The Edexcel GCSE and A Level specifications are delivered to pupils currently. The most able students from all years take part in the Maths Challenge with students regularly qualifying for the European Maths challenges. The department is committed to initial teacher training, career progression and ensuring that all staff have the opportunity for high quality CPD.

Requirements to be considered for this role:

  • Teachers require relevant teaching qualifications (PGCE or QTS) specialising in a  Maths
  • Comfortable teaching at secondary school level (KS3 to KS5)
  • All applicants must be willing and able to travel to Brent Cross, via public or personal transport
  • Must be available for a full time position, starting in September 2020
  • Require an enhanced child workforce DBS
  • Can produce a 6 year career history and two references from teaching roles
