Teacher of Mathematics
Location: Wigan
Start Date: January 2026 (or earlier for the right candidate)
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term with potential for permanent role
Salary: MPS/UPS – depending on experience

An excellent secondary school in Wigan is looking to appoint a talented and motivated Teacher of Mathematics to join their thriving department. The school has a strong reputation for academic success, high standards of behaviour, and a supportive environment where both staff and students are encouraged to excel.

The successful teacher will play a key role in delivering engaging and challenging Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop problem-solving skills and a genuine enjoyment of the subject.

You will:

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or be an ECT with strong subject knowledge

  • Be confident teaching GCSE Mathematics to mixed-ability groups

  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • Inspire pupils through creative and inclusive teaching approaches

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
