Maths Teacher – Secondary School

Location: Dorchester
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience

Are you an enthusiastic Maths Teacher looking for a new opportunity from September 2026? Teaching Personnel is currently working with a supportive mainstream secondary school in Dorchester who are seeking a motivated and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join their team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who enjoys inspiring students and helping them develop confidence in Mathematics, strengthen their problem-solving skills and achieve strong academic outcomes.

The Role

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Create an engaging and supportive classroom environment.

  • Adapt lessons and teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs.

  • Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.

  • Encourage positive attitudes towards learning and maintain high behavioural expectations.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Mathematics department.

  • Contribute to the wider school community and enrichment activities where appropriate.

About You

We're looking for a Maths Teacher who:

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has previous experience teaching Mathematics within a secondary setting.

  • Has excellent subject knowledge and a passion for helping students succeed.

  • Can confidently manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.

  • Is able to engage and challenge students across different abilities.

  • Is organised, dependable and adaptable.

  • Has excellent communication skills and works well as part of a wider team.

  • Is committed to providing an inclusive and high-quality learning experience.
