Maths Teacher – Secondary School

Location: Weymouth
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience

Are you an enthusiastic and committed Maths Teacher seeking a new role for September? Teaching Personnel is working alongside a supportive mainstream secondary school in Weymouth that is looking to appoint a dedicated Maths Teacher to join its team.

This is a great opportunity for a teacher who enjoys making Mathematics accessible and engaging, while helping students develop their confidence, problem-solving abilities and overall academic progress.

The Role

As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering engaging Mathematics lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Creating a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment.

  • Adapting teaching and resources to support students of different abilities.

  • Monitoring attainment and progress, providing effective feedback to students.

  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement.

  • Working closely with the Maths department and wider teaching team.

  • Supporting the wider school community and extracurricular activities where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Have experience teaching Maths within a secondary school environment.

  • Possess strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for Mathematics.

  • Demonstrate confident classroom and behaviour management.

  • Be able to motivate and challenge students across a range of abilities.

  • Have a flexible, reliable and professional approach.

  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider school team.

  • Be committed to helping students achieve their academic potential.
