Maths Teacher - Bridgend Secondary School

One of our partner schools has an upcoming vacancy starting ASAP. The vacancy has arisen due to a maternity within the department. The position is for a Maths Teacher within a Bridgend Secondary School. This is a fixed term post for 2 Terms until the academic year. There is a possibility of the role going permanent for the right candidate as the school are looking to expand in the department if possible. The successful Teacher must have experience in the past of dealing with challenging behaviour where student learning needs to be dynamic and organised in a manor that captures student attention in order to raise attainment.

The School and Position:

-Position starting ASAP.

-Maths teacher for secondary school pupils aged between 11-19

-large school with over 1500 Pupils

-Easy transport access from the M4

The successful Maths Teacher and the role:

-Have a strong Mathematics background

-Be fully confident in delivering lessons to pupils of all abilities

-Possible group intervention for C/D borderline pupils may be required

-Hold QTS status including NQT's

-The understanding and the ability to work with children with challenging behaviour

-Registered with the Education Workforce Council

-The suitable candidate will have strong subject knowledge as this role does require detailed awareness of the national curriculum

-Positive record of student development, subject knowledge and classroom behaviour management skills are essential

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
