Do you have a passion to inspire children and young people?

Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit a Maths and Science tutor for children in Looked After Care (LAC), located in Darlington. This position is to commence immediately, with multiple opportunities for tutors to work on a 1:1 basis with LAC children and young people, supporting them with their learning. These roles will involve working flexible hours, so would be great for Teachers who are looking to work flexible hours.

The tuition can take place in the young person's home, their residential care home, or an agreed public venue. Many children in LAC have faced adversity in their lives and therefore can often experience a variety of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, causing them to demonstrate challenging behaviour that at times impacts their learning. Because of this, many of the children and young people in LAC could be extremely disengaged in their education and be at much lower levels than expected.

If you wish to be considered for the position you should:

  • Have a QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or significant tutoring experience
  • The ability to work flexible hours and build strong working relationships with pupils
  • The passion to support vulnerable children who have been unable to participate in mainstream education

Teaching Personnel can offer the successful LAC Tutor pay rates of £20-£30 per hour, however long term rates can be negotiated on your behalf. Teaching Personnel will also provide you will access to unique to CPD opportunities to increase your qualifications and knowledge of the field, so this position is ideal for those wishing to enhance their CV and undertake a rewarding position. If you are interested in this role please call us today for a confidential chat to learn more.
