Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant

Are you a Maths Graduate considering a career in teaching? Do you have the confidence to support secondary aged students during classes?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large secondary school in South Manchester who are looking for a number of Maths Graduate Teaching assistants to join their Mathematics department on a full time basis.

As a Maths Graduate Teaching assistant you will:

  • Offer in class support to students across years 7-11
  • Support pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis in the Maths department
  • Cover Maths lessons with pre-set wok in the absence of the class teacher
  • Working directly alongside the Maths teacher to develop lesson plans and activities
  • Gain invaluable experience prior to starting a PGCE
  • Earn between £1100 - £1200 per month

Our client school wishes to appoint Maths Graduate Teaching Assistants with immediate effect in order to implement support in the Maths department in the new academic year. All Maths Graduate Teaching Assistants will be appointed for one academic term in the first instance with the opportunity to earn a fixed term contract following this.

With over 1000 pupils on roll, our client school is a large vibrant secondary school located in the heart of central Manchester. Due to the diverse demographics of the school, there are a high proportion of pupils with English as an additional language (EAL) and a significant number of pupils receive additional Pupil Premium funding.

Our client school is located in central Manchester and is easily accessible from the surrounding areas and public transport links into the city centre. For those who drive, the school has a large car park accessible for all staff members.
