Location: Walsall
Start Date: January 2026
Pay Rate: £90-£120 per day
About the role:
We are working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in the Walsall area who are seeking an experienced and confident Maths Cover Supervisor to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with proven experience delivering maths at secondary level who is able to build strong relationships with students and maintain a positive learning environment.
As a Maths Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and delivering pre-planned maths lessons in the absence of the class teacher ensuring students remain engaged and on task.
What you'll be doing:

Deliver and supervise maths lessons across KS3 and KS4 using work set by teaching staff

Use your secondary-level maths experience to support student understanding and progress

Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies

Build strong positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and motivation

Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and any concerns

Follow safeguarding and health and safety procedures at all times
What were looking for:

Proven experience delivering maths at secondary school level

Strong subject knowledge in Maths
-
Experience working with students aged 11–16
-
Ability to build positive relationships and engage learners effectively

Confident classroom management skills
-
Professional reliable and adaptable approach
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
