Maths & English Tutor – Ilkeston (DE7)

Location: Ilkeston, DE7
Hours: Flexible (Part-Time (Monday to Friday- School Hours)
Pay: Competitive rates, dependent on experience

Are you passionate about helping young people succeed in their education? We are looking for a dedicated Maths and English Tutor to provide tailored support to learners in the Ilkeston area.

About the Role

You will work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, delivering engaging lessons that help improve confidence, attainment, and overall academic progress in Maths and English.

What You'll Be Doing

✅ Planning and delivering personalised Maths and English sessions
✅ Adapting teaching methods to suit individual learning needs
✅ Monitoring and reporting on student progress
✅ Building positive relationships with students, parents, and professionals
✅ Encouraging student engagement and confidence in learning

What We're Looking For

✔ Experience teaching or tutoring Maths and English
✔ Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum
✔ Ability to engage and motivate learners of different abilities
✔ Excellent communication and organisational skills
✔ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
✔ Right to work in the UK

Desirable

⭐ Experience supporting students with SEN and/or SEMH needs
⭐ Teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
⭐ Previous experience within tutoring or alternative provision settings
