Full time Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) Teaching Assistant required as soon as possible till the end of the academic year with the potential to progress on to a permanent contract for the successful candidate.

Teaching Personnel are working in collaboration with a Special School in Lougborough

  • Previous experience working with young people with Autism is essential to be considered for this position.
  • Opportunity to work within an Ofsted graded 'Good' Special school.

The incoming ASC Teaching Assistant will be joining a staff team of 11 support staff members working under the guidance of the SENCO, with access to state of the art resources in modern facilities.

The responsibilities for the successful ASC TA will include;

  • Provide day to day classroom support to pupils on a 1:1 or in small groups establishing good rapports with pupils, acting as a role model and acting on all needs as required.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
  • Help to plan lessons by preparing materials and resources.
  • Have the confidence to address conflict challenging behaviour.
