Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large mixed comprehensive secondary school situated within the Bolton LEA. The school are seeking to appoint a highly inspirational English Graduate to improve and raise the standards of Literacy in the school as a Literacy Mentor from September 2019. This is an exciting opportunity for either a recent graduate or an experienced Mentor who are seeking new challenges, and is initially being offered on a fixed term, full-time basis for the full academic year 2019/2020.

  • Full-time Literacy Mentor required from September 2019
  • Role is required until the end of the academic year with the opportunity for a permanent role for the perfect candidate
  • Earn up to £1300 per month (negotiable depending on experience)
  • Large mixed comprehensive secondary school located in Bolton, near to the M61 motorway

Our client school is situated near to the Breightment area of Bolton, Greater Manchester. The school is easily accessible from a number of public transportation routes and is a located a short drive from the M61 motorway. This larger than average sized secondary school has over 1000 students on roll, and the school has recently been refurbished to accomodate oversubscription. The school has continued to improve and is focussed on improving even further, with students' academic progress at the forefront of all priorities. Due to this, the role of the Literacy Mentor will focus upon improving outcomes for all pupils within the English faculty.

Working as a Literacy Mentor at our client school, the ideal candidate will work alongside the English department in raising the standards of literacy across the school. This is a new and exciting role in which the perfect candidate will develop their ideas into strategies in order to help students improve both their spoken and written English. Using 1:1 and small group intervention will allow the incoming Literacy Mentor to raise attainment and the use of literacy throughout all year groups.
