Literacy and Language SATs Mentor in both 1:1 and Small Groups

Role Specification

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a friendly, compassionate and eager Intervention Teacher who specialises in English Literacy and Language tutoring. This particular role will vary between 1:1 and small group interventions with Key Stage 2 pupils within one of our 'Outstanding' schools, located in Camden (just minutes walk from Camden Town station). You will be assisting in both private classes and main-class support for selected students who are known to struggle with their Language phonics and Reading skills (our SLCN and Dyslexic pupils). The school are pro-actively looking for someone on a long-term basis - in preparation for SATs in April/May time. Your day will consist of small group tuition with Year 2 students in the morning, and will then focus on a Year 6 class in the afternoon.

What we're after

• The ideal candidate must empathise and understand the varied level of English speaking between each pupil, and implement particular learning techniques to support them.
• Be creative in providing a fun, stimulating and safe environment that can be transferred to main-class learning
• Maintain high standards of education - in compliance with the school's 'Outstanding' status.
• Have sound knowledge of the Primary English curriculum, and hold recognisable QTS. Whilst any certificates, diplomas or experience working in an Intervention environment is desirable.
