Level 2 Teaching Assistant – Wythenshawe (Secondary Experience Essential) – September Start

Location:Wythenshawe, South Manchester
Position:Level 2 Teaching Assistant
Start Date:September 2025
Contract Type:Full-time, long-term
Salary: £89-105 per day (based on experience and qualifications)

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistantto work in a secondary schoolin Wythenshawefrom September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term role ideal for a TA who has prior experience supporting pupils at secondary level.

The school is a large, inclusive academy that serves a diverse community. With a strong pastoral team and a commitment to raising standards, the school is looking for a TA who shares their drive for improvement and commitment to every child’s success.

Your Key Duties Will Include:

  • Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 in and out of the classroom

  • Working with small groups and individuals, including those with SEND and EHCPs

  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management

  • Supporting the behaviour and emotional needs of pupils in line with the school's policies

  • Liaising with SENCOs and teachers to ensure progress targets are met

  • Providing literacy, numeracy, or pastoral support during interventions

Essential Requirements:

  • A recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or higher)

  • Previous experience working in a secondary school (this is essential)

  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills

  • Experience supporting students with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, or SEMH

  • A calm, confident, and adaptable approach

  • A genuine interest in pupil development and education

Desirable:

  • Team Teach or other behaviour training

  • Experience with EHCPs or learning plans

  • Experience supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
