Teaching Assistant Opportunity – Secondary Provision Unit (Wythenshawe)
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a secondary school in the Wythenshawearea that is seeking a committed and experienced Teaching Assistantto support within their on-site provision unit. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and who have experience working within a secondary schoolsetting.
This is an open vacancy, meaning that for the right candidate, there is the potential for a permanent positionfollowing an initial period on supply.
Role Overview:
You will be working with students aged 11–16 within the school’s internal provision unit, supporting those who may present with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, or who require additional academic and pastoral support. The school places a strong emphasis on creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all learners.

Pay:Competitive, dependent on experience

What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
-
Experience supporting students in a secondary schoolenvironment
-
Confidence in managing behaviour and supporting pupils with a variety of needs
-
Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and colleagues
Desirable:
-
Experience working with SEN, SEMH, or in an internal inclusion/provision unit
-
Background in youth work, mentoring, care, or alternative education
-
De-escalation or behaviour management training such as Team Teach (advantageous but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
