Learning Support Assistant 

We are currently working in partnership with a local school looking to take on Learning Support Assistants to join the team as soon as possible. They school caters for KS1 - KS4 pupils all with special educational needs. Each pupil will have an EHCP (educational health care plan) and the curriculum is adpated to their needs. 

The school is looking for Learning Support Assistants who have experience with autism, emotional needs, speech and language difficulties or physical disabilties. Experience can come from working in a mainstream school, special school, care worker, support worker, nanny/au pair or parent of a child with special educational needs. The school is recognised for the training and support they provide all new starters. Learning Support Assistants will learn from staff with lots of training and many years of experience working with special needs. 

Responsibilities

  • Working one to one with 2- 3 key children, delivering their intervention plans
  • Each child will have a unique intervention plan and you will help support them to achieve targets and key development goals
  • Supporting students with behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Ensuring to safeguard children
  • Supporting children to socialise with peer
  • Working alongside SEND professionals (educational psychologist and speech and language therapists) to ensure students are on track
  • Helping the class teacher by preparing resources
  • Liaising with parents and carers about students’ progress
  • Getting involved in extracurricular activities – schools trips, school productions and work experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
