Teaching Assistant – Secondary Schools
Luton | Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Available
We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work across a range of secondary schools in Luton.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support students in their academic progress and personal development within supportive and inclusive school environments. Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant, a graduate considering a career in education, or someone with experience working with young people, we would love to hear from you.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school, you will:

Support students in lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable)
-
Provide one-to-one and small group interventions
-
Assist students with additional needs, including SEND
-
Help maintain a positive and focused learning environment
-
Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to support student progress
-
Promote inclusion, independence, and confidence
Who We’re Looking For

Have experience working with young people (schools, tutoring, youth work, mentoring, coaching, etc.)

Are patient, resilient, and proactive

Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

Are passionate about supporting students to achieve their full potential

Can build positive and professional relationships with students and staff
Graduates considering teacher training or educational psychology are particularly encouraged to apply.
Requirements
Essential:
-
Experience working with children or young people
-
A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
-
Good literacy and numeracy skills
-
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Desirable (but not essential):
-
A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, degree)
-
Experience supporting students with SEND
-
Previous experience in a secondary school setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
