Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant for a well known school in the Durham area. The role will be to work with the nurture groups in the current cohort of pupils who have a larger amount of SEND issues, therefore someone robust with previous experience would be essential. It is due to begin ASAP and last for the full academic year at least.

The Role

  • Full time work starting in ASAP until the end of the academic year supporting withing the school's SEN department
  • Working 1-2-1 with pupils who need additional support in lessons
  • Work with the Class Teacher to identify different methods to help the pupil
  • Leading interventions with pupils where you work with them to complete the work assigned by the Teacher outside of the classroom
  • Reading and scribing for pupils when they have assessments and exams

The Candidate

  • Learning Support Assistant qualification preferred
  • Experience working with SEND pupils essential
  • Background in education would be ideal
  • Willing to work with the SENCO and external agencies to support the pupil

This role is to start in ASAP with interviews being conducted at the candidate's earliest possible convenience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
