Job description

An exciting opportunity exists in a warm, inclusive SEND primary school in Southampton looking to welcome a full-time Learning Support Assistant to their supportive and passionate team.

Teaching Personnel are aiding the recruitment for this school that caters for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs. Every child is supported as an individual, and they pride themselves on creating a nurturing, structured environment where pupils can thrive both academically and emotionally.

In this role, you will work closely with class teachers to provide tailored support, both within the classroom and on a 1:1 basis. You’ll play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop communication skills, and build confidence.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in education, care, or working with children with additional needs
  • Is patient, empathetic, and proactive
  • Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Is passionate about making a difference every day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
