Learning Support Assistant – Mainstream Secondary School, Salisbury (September 2025 Start)

Are you a compassionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant looking to make a lasting impact on students’ lives? A well-established secondary school in Salisbury is seeking a skilled Learning Support Assistant to join their inclusive and supportive team from September 2025.

About the Role: This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide crucial support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and behavioural challenges. The role will involve working 1:1 and with small groups, supporting students to thrive academically and socially in a mainstream school environment.

Key duties include:

  • Providing tailored support to students with SEN and behavioural needs.

  • Assisting in the delivery of personalised learning plans to help students achieve their potential.

  • Offering support both in class and in small group settings to ensure students remain engaged and confident in their learning.

  • Working closely with teaching staff to track student progress and adapt learning strategies accordingly.

  • Promoting positive behaviour and fostering an encouraging, inclusive atmosphere.

Who We Are Looking For: The successful applicant will have previous experience working with students who have SEN or behavioural needs and will be confident supporting both 1:1 and in small group settings. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a difference in students' lives, demonstrating a calm and patient approach, and understanding the unique challenges faced by students with additional needs. A full-time commitment is essential for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
