**Teaching Assistant Required**
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a specialist SEN school in the Portsmouth area. The school has been rated Outstanding in their latest Ofsted report, and they are looking for staff to deliver high levels of support to their pupils.
The school's focus is providing learning support to Primary and Secondary aged pupils with varied complex and physical needs.
Experience working with adults or children with additional needs is essential, as you will be a vital part of the team. Although classroom experience is desirable, candidates with experience in support work will also be able to excel in this role.
You will be responsible for supporting the class teacher in carrying out the pupil's individual education plans, and working on a 1:1 basis, as well as in groups. Class sizes consist of roughly 10 pupils, with a class teacher and 3 support staff. Being able to work in a variety of situations and dealing with challenging behaviour is paramount to being an effective support to the staff and pupils.
Hours are 08:30 - 15:30 Monday to Friday. Full time is preferred, but part time applicants may still apply as job shares can be available.
Applicants will be required to undergo a mandatory vetting process in order to ensure compliance, prior to being placed withing a school setting.
