Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist educational setting, supporting students with additional learning, behavioural, and emotional needs.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about helping young people develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills in a supportive and structured environment.

The Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with their learning, both in and out of the classroom
  • Work one-to-one or with small groups to help students access education
  • Assist with emotional regulation and positive behaviour support
  • Encourage independence, engagement, and personal development
  • Support students during off-site activities and vocational learning
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual needs
  • Support with personal care where required 

Essential Requirements:

  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to drive as part of the role
  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
  • Experience working with young people with additional needs
  • Knowledge of behavioural support strategies
  • Relevant education or care qualifications

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
