Learning Support Assistant
Job description
We are seeking a committed and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join a dedicated team within a specialist educational setting in Poole, supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.

About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils to engage positively with learning, manage behaviour, and develop essential life skills. Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff, you will help implement behaviour strategies and provide targeted support both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and emotional regulation

Implementing behaviour support plans and positive behaviour strategies

Providing 1:1 and small group support
-
Assisting pupils to re-engage with learning following dysregulation

Supporting transitions and unstructured times (e.g. break and lunch)

Promoting a calm, safe, and consistent learning environment
We Are Looking For Someone Who:

Has experience in behaviour and emotional support

Is calm, patient, and resilient under pressure

Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Is committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
- Is available full time (Monday - Friday, term time only)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
