Learning Support Assistant – Northamptonshire Secondary School

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our welcoming and inclusive secondary school community in Northamptonshire.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a daily difference in the lives of students — supporting their learning, confidence, and wellbeing within the classroom and beyond.

The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and SEND staff to support students with a range of learning needs. You’ll provide one-to-one and small-group assistance, helping students engage with lessons and develop essential skills for success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in lessons, ensuring they access the curriculum fully

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support tailored to individual needs

  • Encourage confidence, independence, and positive attitudes to learning

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement support strategies

  • Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment

About You:

  • Caring, patient, and enthusiastic about helping young people

  • Able to build positive relationships with students and staff

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Experience supporting children or young people (in school or similar setting) preferred

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
