Full-Time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – SEMH School (KS2–KS4)
Location: New Forest
Employer: Teaching Personnel
Start Date: As soon as possible

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a well-regarded SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school supporting pupils between Key Stages 2–4.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people with additional needs. The school has a strong reputation for its nurturing and supportive environment, with small class sizes (around 8 pupils per class) to ensure individualised attention and care.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs, including those with challenging behaviour or backgrounds in care.

  • Work closely with class teachers and other staff to deliver tailored learning support.

  • Promote positive behaviour and act as a consistent, positive role model.

  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with challenging behaviour and/or children in care is essential.

  • A calm, empathetic and resilient approach to supporting pupils with SEMH needs.

  • A valid Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

  • Commitment to working full-time and starting as soon as possible.
