Learning Support Assistant

Full-Time LSA – 1:1 Year 3 Support

A primary school in Locks Heath (SO31) is seeking a dedicated, patient, and resilient full-time LSA to provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil from 3rd September 2026.

The pupil is non-verbal and autistic, and the successful candidate will play an important role in supporting their learning, communication, wellbeing, and inclusion throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil.
• Support the pupil's learning and engagement in the classroom.
• Assist with communication and help the pupil access the curriculum.
• Support the pupil's SEND needs, promoting independence and confidence.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school team.
• Help create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly autism, is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting non-verbal pupils or children with communication needs would be advantageous.
• A patient, calm, caring, and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• A genuine passion for helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
