Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 1

Petersfield | Full-Time | September Start

A lovely primary school in Petersfield is looking for an experienced and confident SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September, supporting a child in Year 1 who presents with challenging behaviour and requires consistent, nurturing support.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated TA who enjoys building positive relationships with children and is passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

The role:

• Full-time, Monday–Friday, from September
• Supporting a Year 1 child on a 1:1 basis
• Providing calm, consistent support with behaviour and emotional regulation
• Helping the child to engage positively with learning and classroom routines
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
• Supporting the child’s social, emotional and academic development

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working with children with SEN and challenging behaviour
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• Excellent behaviour-management skills
• The ability to build strong, trusting relationships
• A nurturing yet consistent approach
• Experience within a primary school setting is highly desirable
