Learning Support Assistant
Are you passionate about helping young people achieve their potential? We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Bournemouth.
This is a full-time role with an immediate start, supporting students aged 16–18 years with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in both primary and secondary settings.
About the Role
- Position: Learning Support Assistant
- Location: Bournemouth
- Hours: 8.30am – 3.00pm, Monday to Friday
- Contract: Full-time, long-term with potential for permanent opportunities
- Start Date: Immediate
You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance that helps students engage with learning and develop confidence. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with SEN and ASD in classroom and one-to-one settings.
- Assist with adapting learning materials to meet individual needs.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure holistic development.
- Help create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience in childcare or education, ideally supporting children with SEN needs.
- A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to learning support.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A genuine passion for helping learners achieve their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
