Teaching Personnel are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work in a secondary school in Blandford Forum. This is a full time role starting in September, this position will be temporary with the view to become permanent for the right individual.
The students will have all been identified as having additional needs and as such are better suited to 1:1 or 2:1 learning and will have an individualised curriculum based on their specific needs.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support the school to develop students to cope better with the things they find challenging whether this is during their school day or at home.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will help establish positive and healthy relationships, emotional wellbeing and developing social skills. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who is fancying a change in career or if you have a keen interest in working within a mainstream school with pupils who require additional support.
Pay: £77 - £95 a day.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Plan and support children with additional needs and help them reach their potential in a professional and caring manner
- Be reliable and punctual when working individually in the community or when part of a team and supporting colleagues to do their jobs
- Actively plan and join in play and youth activities including swimming, ball games, music and more
- Be prepared to communicate differently with a wide range of people
- Keep records and write reports when required
- Always ensure the highest level of safety and safeguarding
We are looking for a dedicated individual who is passionate about providing the highest standards of care and facilitating opportunities for learning. Previous experience of looking after children would be an advantage however a can-do attitude and commitment to the children and your team is equally as important.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
