Learning Support Assistant

Barry PRU

Our client school is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join the team working in their Barry PRU supporting pupils with complex SEMH and Behavioural Needs.

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant that is confident building relationships with KS2-KS3 aged learners, that can work well in a close team environment and also work to their own initiative, that is unfazed by challenging behaviour and able to effectively reduce and defuse challenging situations.

Requirements for the role:

Enhanced DBS

Registration with the Education Workforce Council

2 Employment references

Safeguarding level 2 qualification – FREE through TP

Role and Responsibilities

You will work in class with students supporting them during a range of lessons, including literacy and numeracy classes and vocational classes.

You will help engage the learners with the activities set out by the teacher and ensure that the learners are on task.

Work 1 to 1 with learners building up a positive relationship to best support them.

Support with student assessments and monitor learner progress towards targets

Provide nurturing support for learners.
