About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Bradford. In this role, you will work closely with SEND students to provide tailored support, fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Individualised Support: Assist students with diverse learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), to access the curriculum effectively.

  • Classroom Assistance: Support teachers in delivering lessons, managing classroom activities, and maintaining a conducive learning atmosphere.

  • Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and address any challenges that may arise.

  • Progress Monitoring: Observe and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the school's SEND team, teachers, and parents to ensure the holistic development of students.

  • Experience: Have experience supporting children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.

  • Skills: Demonstrate patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.

  • Commitment: Show a genuine desire to help every pupil reach their potential.

  • Qualifications: Hold relevant qualifications or are willing to undertake training (e.g., SEND and Thrive modules).
