Intervention Teaching Assistant
Location: Wakefield
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Intervention Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Wakefield on a long-term, full-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
The Role

Deliver targeted intervention sessions, both 1:1 and in small groups, to raise attainment in core subjects.

Support pupils in developing confidence, resilience, and independent learning skills.

Work closely with class teachers and the SEN/EAL teams to identify learning gaps and provide tailored support.

Monitor and track pupil progress, feeding back to staff and contributing to intervention planning.

Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
The Ideal Candidate

Experience working with children and young people, ideally in a classroom or intervention setting.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learning.

Ability to motivate and inspire pupils to succeed.

Relevant qualifications (e.g., TA qualification or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
