SEND Support Assistant – LS10 (Leeds)

Daily Rate: £90–£105/day

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for a dedicated and proactive SEND Support Assistant to join a specialist school in South Leeds (LS10).

The Role:

As a SEND Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students access learning and daily activities. You’ll need to be adaptable, patient, and hands-on, with a genuine commitment to supporting pupils with a range of needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND.

• Moving & Handling support, including hoists, slings, and safe wheelchair transfers.

• Supporting pupils with personal care (feeding, toileting, changing).

• Assisting students with mobility and physical needs throughout the school day.

• Building positive relationships with pupils and staff, being both approachable and proactive.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working in SEND, care, or support roles (school or care setting).

• Moving & Handling training (or willingness to complete).

• Confident with wheelchair handling and physical support.

• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

• A strong sense of initiative – able to step in and support where needed.

• UK driving licence and access to transport (highly desirable due to location).

• Reliable, empathetic, and committed to making a difference.
