Are you a graduate considering a career in education or teaching?

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit graduates to work within our partner schools as cover supervisors, learning mentors and behaviour mentors. We are receiving requests for full time and part time positions that are long term and temporary dependant on the individual needs of the school. Graduates will be provided with first hand experience of working in a secondary school setting in a variety of roles to support a teacher training application.

The role of a cover supervisor involves covering a permanent teacher's timetable and classes for the day. The teacher will leave set work and planned lessons for you to deliver, working alone in the classroom you will be responsible for ensuring students remain on task, complete the set work and are behaving through effective behaviour management strategies.

Learning mentors and behaviour mentors work with specific students who have been identified from their educational health car e plans with the special educational needs department putting provisions in place to provide the support required to enhance the student's learning experience. As a learning mentor and behaviour mentor you will be working with students on a 1:1 and small group basis working with students who might have moderate learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, dyslexia or social emotional behaviour support.

Teaching Personnel currently work with secondary school s across the local authorities of Manchester, Tameside, Stockport, Trafford and Cheshire East.

  • Suitable work based or educational references
  • Clear passion for working with young people and in education
  • Eligibility for a fully enhanced DBS certificate
  • A University degree in the UK or Ireland
