Learning Mentors required for a Bury based Secondary School, required from September 2018 on a temporary basis.

Teaching Personnel are working in collaboration with our partner Secondary school based in Bury. The school are seeking to appoint several Learning Mentors to cover temporary gaps across the support team within their Secondary school.

If you have experience working with young people, supporting with their teaching and learning across the subject board then please see the details below.

  • Temporary, flexible Learning Mentors required for Bury Secondary school, from September 2018.
  • Previous experience working with young people within an educational capacity is highly desirable.
  • Opportunity to work in a well respected Secondary School, rated 'Good' by Ofsted.
  • Competitive rates of pay - Earn up to £1300 per month

The incoming Learning Mentors can expect to be fully supported through CPD training programmes throughout the academic year 2018-2019. You will be joining a growing Secondary school, with fewer than 800 pupils on roll aged 11- 16

In addition to the ability to perform the duties expected for the Learning Mentor role, an understanding of the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children will need to be demonstrated;

  • Motivation to work with young people.
  • Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with young people in your care.
  • Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and attitudes with all levels of learners.
  • Flexibility to implement agreed learning activities/teaching in a range of subjects across the school board.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of young people you are responsible for or come into contact with.

Ideally located to be accessed via the M60 and the surrounding areas; Rochdale, Bolton and Salford. The school also has various public transport options with links throughout Greater Manchester.
