Learning Mentor - Maidenhead

Teaching Personnel are seeking a confident and self motivated Learning mentor who is able to use their initiative to provide support in a special educational needs school full time in Maidenhead.

As a learning mentor, you'll provide support to teachers and other staff, addressing the needs of learners who require help in overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential.

The job will require:

• Good numeracy, literacy & communication skills.
• Supervising students out of lessons, before and after school and at lunchtimes.
• Providing pastoral support for students, including those with special needs, in terms of emotional, behaviour and learning needs - mainly Social Emotional Mental Health Needs and Autism.
• Supervising and supporting students, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
• Establishing good relationships with students, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs.
• Encouraging students to interact with others and engaging in activities led by the teacher.
• Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these.
• Promoting good students behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents, and encouraging students to take responsibility for their own behaviour.
• Strong Behaviour Management skills and training Team Teach/Crisis Management
