Learning Mentor

Do you have experience working with vulnerable young people?

Do you have experience as a mentor or role model in or out of an educational setting?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a secondary school located in the Stockport area of Manchester, in order to recruit a Learning Mentor. This Learning Mentor vacancy is for a full time, on going position, starting after October half term. The successful Learning Mentor will be introduced to the school through Teaching Personnel, with an opportunity for a school based contract following the introduction. The secondary school is seeking a Learning Mentor who has a patient and compassionate nature, and will be able to work with their pupils with a range of difficulties. These difficulties include; Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH), Mild Autism, Learning difficulties (Dyslexia and Dyspraxia).

  • Pay rate up to £1300 per month depending on experience

The secondary school is located in a rural area of South Stockport, in a leafy Manchester suburb. The school is easily accessible by car, a 15 minute from Manchester ring road. The school is also easily accessible by public transport, with direct links from Manchester city centre. The school has a large pastoral team who work closely with the more vulnerable pupils within school, making sure their personal needs are met so have the best opportunity to be successful and achieve academically. The school set high standards for both their pupils and teachers, encouraging all in the school environment to strive for success and reach their full potential. This is an opportunity to be part of supportive and dedicated pastoral team at a high achieving Manchester secondary school.
