Learning Mentor
I am looking for a learning mentor who can work with children who are at risk of exclusion from mainstream school due to behaviour difficulties. You will be employed directly by Teaching Personnel as an agency worker, however the role you will be doing is organised by an educational intervention service, based in Kingston.
- You will work in one school with one student in the mornings, and another school with another student in the afternoons
- You will deliver work (mostly in maths and English) set by the schools where the children are on roll, however your main focus will be more on behaviour management, mentoring and progressing positive communication with the children
- The locations of the schools we cover include Kingston and Richmond – and you will likely be required to travel between the two on a daily basis
Successful applicants must have experience of working with children, ideally in a 1:1 intervention, coaching, mentoring or youth work capacity.
You will be on a GBP75 per day pay rate, and you will work through the agency until the service can offer you a permanent role – at which time you will be eligible to apply and transfer from our agency contract to their permanent contract.
The service who will be coordinating your role, will provide you with a work mobile phone (and potentially a work laptop – if remote working becomes necessary at any time due to covid)
Please send your CV today if you would like to be considered for a learning mentor role.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
