Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a secondary SEN school in Bolton who have a full time position starting ASAP, the school are seeking to hire a dedicated individual to the role of Learning Mentor. This is a temporary post within the first instance, with the opportunity to become a permanent school contract after an initial introductory period, the role of Learning Mentor will involve;

  • Providing direct support to pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Leading small groups during lessons and supporting individuals on a 1:1 basis
  • Implementing the schools behaviour management policy
  • Attending staff meetings, following senior management direction each day
  • Ensuring every child is supported daily and has the opportunity to develop and learn

The successful applicant undertaking this Learning Mentor role will be working within our client school in Bolton which caters for children aged 11-16 with SEN. Specifically pupils have Social & emotional mental health needs (SEMH) and attend this school for the purpose of individual development. Children may have been excluded from mainstream education or attend this school as part of their ECHP, as a Learning Mentor you will implement the schools excellent behaviour management and also rewards policy. Previous experience as a teaching assistant or support worker with behaviour would be advantageous, Teaching Personnel hold “Team-Teach” training every half term which would be a worthwhile training programme to work with challenging behaviour, if you have Team-Teach we welcome your application for this position in Oldham.
