Ad Hoc Teaching Assistants needed

Teaching personnel are looking for Teaching Assistants, or candidates with a background in childcare or youth work looking for a change of direction, to work in Special Educational Needs School in and around the Chertsey area.

Are you wanting work where you decide your working hours to fit around our personal life. Are you available on short notice or on set days per week?

I have opportunities within special educational needs schools that I work closely with where they are looking for a group of reliable and flexible candidates to help with supporting short term absences.

This special educational needs school supports children who find it harder to learn than most children of the same age. Because of this, the classes are smaller than a mainstream setting, and the amount of staff around to support is often more. The role is challenging, varied and very rewarding.

The role as Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting the children in their play, learning, social activities and on outings.
  • Encouraging children's confidence, self esteem and independence
  • Helping children understand instructions
  • Supporting creative and craft activities, such as painting, drawing and sensory play as well as more structured lesson plans.
  • Providing feedback and assistance to teachers.

The school based in Chertsey, caters for children between the ages of 4 - 11 with profound multiple learning difficulties that uses Makaton. The schools aim is for their students to reach their full potential regardless of starting points and individual challenges.

Your working hours will be 8:30 and 3:30

If you think this is the role for you, please call Rachel on 0118 3271606 for more information alternatively please click on 'APPLY NOW' and I will call you back.
