Make a Difference: Become a LAC Tutor in Darlington!

Are you passionate about positively impacting a young person's life? We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate LAC Tutor to deliver 1:1 tuition to Looked After Children in Darlington.

About the Role:
As a LAC Tutor, you’ll provide personalised educational support to children in care who may need extra help. Most sessions are delivered face-to-face (with occasional online tutoring) and focus on helping learners catch up, stay on track, and grow in confidence.

You’ll be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, tailored lessons based on each student's individual needs, whether supporting them with core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science, or preparing them for exams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 tutoring sessions to Looked After Children

  • Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles

  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students and carers

  • Regularly monitor and report on student progress

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or proven tutoring experience

  • Enhanced DBS check registered with the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Experience working with vulnerable children is highly desirable

  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage young learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
