This school offers an alternative to mainstream school for students between KS2 and KS4 who are unable to attend mainstream school due to exclusion, anxiety or medical needs. The Centre provides a flexible, individual package of education which reflects the interests of the student. 

We are looking for a Teacher to teach students in Year 7 and 8 who are learning at lower levels. There is at least 1, sometimes 2 TA's to support you with a class of 6. 

Primary and KS3 Bases provide a mixed and varied curriculum to their students following Programmes of Study from the National Curriculum. Other enrichment opportunities include equine therapy, John Muir Award at Rylands Farm, forest school, gym, football, trampolining, gymnastics and outdoor (Sport) education.

Teaching at this school will require the post holder to:

  • Have QTS - NQT's welcome to apply
  • Demonstrate the ability and commitment of working with pupils with special educational needs
  • Plan and deliver outstanding and effective teaching to enable a high-quality learning experience for all pupils
  • Demonstrate compassion, understanding and flexibility in their approach ensuring progression is central to all lessons whilst giving pupils the confidence to grow as they progress through school.
  • Work with pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • Be patient and flexible 

The school are happy to consider teachers with KS2 or KS3 experience. 

This is a full time position but the school are open to discussing part time availability. 

Mid term planning is provided but you must have the ability to adjust planning where necessary.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
